i iSo my first brush with MAT was with suboxone,
It helped alot but I had some pretty bad side effects that I really really didn't like. So I made the switch to Methadone. And honestly, waking up every morning to goto a clinic has been really good for me. I was sleeping my life away with suboxone (that was another bad side effect of that shit, really really really bad fatigue) Currently im on 120mg methadone and have to see a doctor in a few days to go up anymore. I think 50 more mgs and I should be at where I want and need to be, im going to try and stay around 170ish for a few months then start to taper down really slowly. Another big benefit of going to the clinic is the added counseling (individual, group, and family) that is included free of charge. Stuff like that, along with AA/NA meetings have been very good for me. Overall, I think methadone manages cravings better than subs did aswell. It feels like a "real opiate" more than suboxone did but without all the crazy bad side effects to IV H or fent use did. Anyways, hang in there yall! When I first moved into this recovery house I had the clothes on my back and that was it. Now I have my needs met plus way more than I actually need. It can be done!
