Has anyone ever traveled abroad with methadone? I’m considering going to Brazil for two weeks in December. I talked to my counselor this morning and she said since I’m doing well in my recovery that they should be able to accommodate me. I’m only in my second phase of getting two weekend take homes. My clinic caps out at 13 take homes tops but I told her I’d want to stay there for a whole two weeks due to the plane ticket being so expensive. She messaged the clinic director and she said it shouldn’t be an issue. Thankfully, they are able to do this otherwise I’d have to wait until sometime next year to just get 13 take homes. I just need to figure out what documentation I’d need going through customs. I’d just be a bit devastated if any issues came up. So if you have any advice or have personally traveled abroad let me know. Thank you. 🫶🏻
