I am suddenly moving out of state from California to Arkansas in a couple days and really didn’t know I would be moving for sure and what date until just a day or two ago. Been on methadone quite a while.. lost track how long now but I’m on a weeks worth of take homes.

The problem I had is I am literally gonna be driving there the day before my pickup day!! So I called the clinic and asked them if there was anything at all they can do. Counselor who honestly is mediocre to subpar on her job kind of gave a bunch of stupid half hearted laughs on hearing this and said well… “clinic director” will have to see if this is ok.. she’s gonna flip out… oh hahahahaha… oh this is suchhh short notice… and went on and on for a full minute. I ended up saying to her… well are you going to ask her then?? She said well… I guess I can email her.. but she probably won’t respond today… she’s busy.. I don’t even know if she’s in her office.. cue many excuses… so I say ok.. can you check? Multiple times. She types the email while muttering on about how it’s such short notice… and I don’t know if she’s in her office blah blah. She finishes and sends it and I asks again if she can check if the medical director is in her office and if she can have the medical director call me so I can discuss what’s going on because I’m throughly annoyed (didn’t tell her the last part haha) right as she’s railing on at me she gets an email saying yes that’s fine. So she tells me oh wait she replied and said Yes!! In a shocked tone…

So anyways I’m picking up my weeks worth of take homes that start on Monday this morning. So I will have a week and a half to get settled at a new clinic.. even managing to get them to send my paperwork to the new clinic so I should be able to get takehomes again at the new place. So overall super cool they sorted this out for me. It would have been very very crappy to show up in a new state withdrawing after driving for two days solid!
