This band that I wasn't really into, but was aware of them via friends back in the day, came up in conversation Wednesday evening. It resonated enough for me to note that I hadn't heard that bands name in what felt like forever. Like high school early 20s.

Fast forward (I literally checked as I'm writing this) 48hrs 👀 (well it was 48:45 or so but exactly 2 days seems wild) and it comes up again via a friend's post with a song. Pretty dope song, new for me but I feel like the hook rang a soft bell.

So as far as resonance, nothing immediate or strong initially, so I look up Genius and the person who came to my mind clearly was this chick I had hooked up with a couple months (2months...2 days 👀... 2 people?! Lol) ago. She was pretty cool, I dug her whole demeanor and directness. (plus she was damn sexy holy shit). I was excited to see how this develops. We had a weekend together and she made it clear from the get go that she's there to pnp. Mind you she sought me out initially which really caught me off guard as that never happens. I was skeptical and treaded lightly, but she was the real deal and we accomplished our goals. The amount letters from the alphabet we needed for that weekend would've been enough to force sesame street into a recession.

Weekend ends and I'm feeling good, drop her off, keep chatting into next week. Now as I mentioned earlier, she was hella direct. She let me know if someone else crosses her path with more of the alphabet than me, then we would be over. I felt confident in my alphabet collection so I thought, has to be at least a month. I also felt confident in the laid back vibe that would come with the alphabet, enough to bear some weight should someone else come along (her neck of the woods ain't the most chill).

Into next weekend, I had tickets to a show she couldn't attend so we were gonna do the following weekend. I come out of my show as the sun starts to come out Sunday morning, and just a half hr earlier she chatted me that she found someone new and I'm no longer needed.

Low key I had let myself get hyped over all this so that hit me like a ton of bricks. So hearing that song and looking up the meaning had me reminiscing of what couldve been with her. Life is moving fast for her, I just want to give her a chance to chill but she wasn't about it.

On a sidenote, she hated the concept of astrology. She and I were talking during our weekend together about the universe and shit, it came up and I had noted her mannerisms were very aligned with what I would expect from an Aquarius and she seemed to get annoyed haha. Anyway I dropped it and kept seeing aquarius all over her. She's now the 2nd aquarius to give me some incredible moments in my life that disappeared too quickly (the other one lasted a year at least). Anyway thanks for reading if you made it this far. I recently connected with music from a band I used to know back in the 2000s

This sparked memories of a recent hookup who was very upfront, ready to party and dtf.

I was really into her, but she quickly moved on to someone new.

The whole experience feels like a whirlwind, and the song "Banquet" by Bloc Party resonates with it.
