I built my first foundry couple of days ago...mostly just to melt aluminum cans and what not...
First attempt the can almost melted so I added a few bricks to the inside to make the area smaller..
Second attempt and my crusible failed
I know the walls of the crusible weren't real thick...but this means it got hot enough to melt steel correct?
Yes I checked it with a magnet when I first made the crusible
Also can someone recommend a thermometer I can use to know the temperature of the foundry...I went to home depot today and thiers only went up to 500
