Hi metalheads of Reddit,
So, I thought it would be interesting to hear a range of different people's perspectives on this question.
Always been big into my music, but I've always listened mostly to pop-punk/rock/ska, but I've always mixed a bit of metal in (e.g. Slipknot, Killswitch).
It's pretty exciting seeing that there are so many different types of metal, and I'm excited to explore them all! I'm currently really enjoying working my way through Slipknots albums, and I spontaneously picked up Roots by Sepultura yesterday which is awesome so far.
I would love to hear your personal opinion of must-listen albums from bands to help acquaint myself with the different genres of metal! Everyone has a slightly different taste, hence why I would rather ask this on Reddit than just look it up... and you never know, some interesting discussion may arise!
Thanks all!
