My attempt at casting a Trypanosoma brucei parasite in ZA-27 alloy.
Just started casting a few weeks ago and this is definitely the one I've had the most trouble with. The mold was made in petrobond using a single piece model I made out of Sculpey. Removing it from the sand without damaging the mold was a huge bitch, even using the method which is supposed to help with "odd midpoint" pieces.
I'm afraid to touch it up and polish it for fear of breaking it off of the "stand"(which was not planned). I sort of like it on there.
BTW, ZA-27 alloy is seriously awesome stuff.
