Blower motor issues

Hello I recently purchased a 2006 Mercedes ML350. The blower doesn't seem to bow any hot air. It's didn't blow any cold air either when the AC was on. You can hear the compressors turn on but no air blows. My mechanic tells me the blower motor is locked? Anyone know what this means? I need it fixed as the cold is a coming. Any advice is appreciated.
