Hello! This is just a daily reminder to talk to yourself like the way you also talk to your friends in a nice positive way.
You may have times where you consciously do negative self-talk, like "Ang tanga ko" or "Wala akong kwenta" or other similar things we tell ourselves. But the thing is like any other habit or routine, we can also change this by changing the words we use before we say them to anyone (most especially to ourselves).
This is one of the great benefits of practicing mindfulness. We can actually train our minds to fix some problems we may have mentally and change the way we think and react about the things happening around us.
Say for example, you talk to a friend and complimented them for something as simple as their hair, clothes or anything physical. Moreover, we congratulate them for their accomplishments as well as being able to complete today's tasks despite mental health struggles or finishing a project that was long overdue and had been delayed because of again, personal struggles.
Doesn't it sound nice to hear recognition? Compliments? Other people seeing your worth and effort? Now how about practicing it to yourself? Tell yourself today the positive words you say to others. Instead of "Ang bobo ko" which of course YOU ARE NOT, you can tell yourself "bad trip, pero kaya ko to". Words are weapons, so use them wisely :)
It may sound awkward at first and may not work immediately, but doing it effectively can have a lot of great effects to your mental well-being.
This is speaking from experience. I used to have a lot of self-guilt, shame and low self-esteem. Pero now I can manage the thoughts and feelings I have now because of mindfulness.
So ayun, na share ko lang. I hope this post can help someone, kahit isa lang haha
Or share your own strategies too!
