A disc is the equivalent to a plug for me. It will do one of two things - everything will just avoid the disc, going around it instead of in it OR if it manages to not leak hundreds of milliliters, it just acts like a cork instead. In both scenarios the disc is completely empty, even after 24 hour wear. I either have to sit all day in an empty bath with it in, or if it decides to be a cork I still have to sit in an empty bath for hours and drain out hundreds of milliliters immediately after its removed. I have to sit in an empty bath regardless and Iv done that my entire life since I was very very young and I’m SICK OF IT. The whole point of a disc was to finally find an option that would allow me not to keep sitting in an empty bath my entire life and prevent me from being employed but it’s not working. I’d really like to go outside and feel the sun every few weeks
I guarantee it’s being put in correctly, these discs have been in use for years. I know how to put them in, my disability support people know how to put them in for me, my roommates and spouse know how to put them in for me. I have all different sizes and brands and all have the same result. No other options work, they all fail miserably and don’t collect anything, it just soaks through my pants and shoes every half hour. Iv even tried diapers. Disc is the best option so far because if I’m lucky (about 50% of the time) it will randomly act like a cork and I’ll be able to lay in bed instead of the cold empty bath for a while, but I still have to let it all drain out in the end anyways so what’s the point. I can never go outside, I have to remain close to a bath tub at all times.
Is there anyways to make it actually collect and stop being a cork? Or am I doomed to spending the next 2 years of my life in the bath until I die?
Quick note from the op’s spouse: thank you to those who have been kind and helpful, and thank you so much to admins/mods for stepping in when needed. Your kindness is greatly appreciated by all of us!
