What is a fair punishment for a false accusation?
If it is an iffy accusation, based out of a misunderstanding, I don’t think punishment is needed.
But if an allegation is blatantly false, or done with the intent to harm a man, or material facts are skewed with the intent to harm the man’s reputation? I’d advocate for the maximum penalty for whatever crime the man would’ve been convicted of, and a massive civil forfeiture to the man, say the equivalent dollar value of half the woman’s assets at the time of the accusation or at the time of conviction, whichever is greater.
