Ok! Been learning a lot from all of you ladies here, and have commented on a couple posts.
Made an appointment literally last week, for a MIDI telehealth appointment. They were able to schedule me today in my home state of Michigan!
I just completed my visit and had to hurry up and log on to tell you how impressed I was! The health history online prior to my appointment was no joke, it was very very thorough. When I logged on to meet with my provider, she as well went over every single point in my health history, adding some additional notes, etc. And expanding on things. Again, super impressed. Did not feel rushed, I did not feel put off or anything.
She confirmed that definitely I am suffering perimenopause and then gave me the bad news that it can last anywhere from one year to 10 years LOL! I’m already about a good solid at three years in. She said that I definitely am suffering from just about every symptom.
She did ask for me to put into my own words what I was seeking from my visit today. And I told her: “A reduction or alleviation of perimenopause symptoms that interrupt with my daily life and my quality of life. “
She said she cannot guarantee they will be able to fix everything, but will definitely get me on the road to feeling better.
She will be calling me in an estrogen patch that I will wear twice a week, as well as an oral progesterone, which I was take in the p.m.. She advised not too late, because that tends to make you a little bit sleepy, which is why will help with the sleep, the insomnia, and the staying asleep. But if I take it too late, will affect me waking up.
It was explained, while I do have my uterus intact they need to equal the estrogen and progesterone as they work together. She had asked what other questions I had, and that was one of them.
Other personal notes are, I am not hypertensive, no hx cardiac problems, I have no history of cancer, (no family hx) have not had a hysterectomy, and have had basically no surgeries since 2003. (D/C after miscarriage)
My prescription will be called into my regular local pharmacy, I am not having to purchase medication through them online.
Then they are going to do a telehealth follow up in five weeks, but was told that I can contact them at any time with any questions or concerns.
She did tell me that it generally takes 4 to 6 weeks for the most profound changes to occur, but that does not mean I won’t start feeling alleviation of some symptoms within a couple days, but again she said everybody is different. We’re starting at a low dose and we’ll go from there.
I was very nervous about this and have such a better feeling now, I had wanted to share with everybody.
Will keep everyone posted with how this goes…
