When I joined/stumbled upon this subreddit almost a year ago, it was a very inviting, game discussion oriented place with the occasional hilarious insight into said game where I came to learn a lot about the MegaTen world.

I had only played about 11hrs into Persona 3 FES when I decided to make my first post here; seeking some encouragement to continue on my long forgotten save forgotten.

When I posted, I was greeted with a bunch of very enthusiastic fans of the series who gave me exactly the encouragement and tips I needed to restart my save, roar through the game and finally delve further into these universe'.

In the last little while (admittedly around the time Persona 5 was announced) this sub has seen a HUGE increase in shitposting, "humour" and to be blunt all around negativity.

A post [edit2: it's nice to see the thread is a lot more positive now and users have either deleted their negativity or its been removed] I saw today that reminded me of mine, at least in spirit, really made this clear to me for the first time.
A user just wanting to share his love for a game he just finished, who should be encouraged to delve further into the series as I was, was instead mostly met with jokes, the same old circle jerk or teasing.

This subreddit is no longer the sub I subscribed to back then, and I get that the mods are trying to help that with the serious tag and what not (a great load of help that is), but...

Fuck it, I guess what I'm trying to say is,
is there another MegaTen subreddit out there where people actually discuss the games and are friendly with each other?

TL;DR This sub is no longer the place it was, is there an alternative/rant.

[Edit 3: honestly didn't expect this much of a response, but it's nice to find I'm not alone in my feelings, I'm not trying to change the way this place is/has become, that's impossible and unnecessary but based on the response I'm musing about creating an alternative as there doesn't seem to be one. If at all interested, I'll try to gauge interest here but i have to go to work now.

[Edit 4: So apparently im some sort of pretentious schemer? Sorry if i came off that way, but I genuinely loved this place, and all I wanted has to point out that it has changed and make sure I'm not crazy. Clearly some people see it like this too, but I'm tired of trying to explain why I dont like the current state of this place, so now I'm just going to bow out and leave. I hope one day I'll look back at this place and it'll have calmed down abit, but until everyone, reddit as whole really grows up a bit, I think im done with this site all together.
