I've been meditating for over a year now most days for about 10 minutes on average. Every single time I get neck strain, at the back of my neck. I'm fairly sure it's because I have forward head posture so I'm trying to sit with my head "back" over my shoulders but that takes effort so it really puts a strain on me.
I try to sit with my hips in the right position so that I can have a straight back.
Currently I sit on my computer chair and just try to sit as straight as possible but I always end up uncomfortable and slouching by the end. I can't really do more than 10 minutes without becoming too strained and uncomfortable.
I'm only 24 and otherwise fit and healthy so I don't know what it is about my posture that's off.
Would I be better off sitting on the floor cross legged rather than on a chair? I really want to meditate for longer as I find it often takes me at least 5 minutes to get into a focused state, but the physical discomfort prevents me more than the mental boredom does.
Any tips? Thanks
