Nothing paranormal or enlightening here. I've learned that that is not what to expect from meditation. Like many, I had up and downs starting. But I think I found my groove.
I saw some one comment the other day along the lines of "meditation is like trying to see through muddy water. If you're not focused and moving around, the mud never settles. But if you sit and find calm, the mud will settle and the water will clear"
That sort of sparked me to try harder. This week I've been visualizing that as I meditate. And it worked for me.
I'm finding as I let the mud settle, it's much like your brain decompressing and categorizing things at bed time. Like random thoughts, body movements, occasionally hearing voices. Not every night, but regularly as I lay in bed to sleep, my brain does this. I'm experiencing that as I meditate. But when I get it all settled and my practice is done I feel lighter and refreshed.
