Can meditation help me with stopping trying to fix other people?

I have this ingrained conditioned belief that it's up to me to make someone feel better. It's like I try to take control of their emotions and fix them even if they have harmed me in some way. I'm not on about caring for someone or supporting them I mean i feel immense guilt and hurt if some one has hurt me and they tell me they are upset. I ignore my feelings and try to sooth there's.
