Doctor prescribed me 500 mg of naproxen to take every 12 hrs for a sore throat. Since I am only 4'11 (or possibly less; I was slouching last time they measured me so I say I am 4'11 to be safe) and weigh 90-something pounds, I'm worried that 500 mg is too much for me and will cause me to have some bad reaction. I've had experiences before with doctors giving me the regular doses of some medicines and it making me sick because it was too much for my size.
I told the doctor that I was worried about this. He said that 500 mg naproxen is safe for mostl adults, but just to be safe I can try half the pill instead. I tried half the pill last night, it didn't knock the pain completely out, so now I would like to try the whole pill but I'm scared.
I'm 23, by the way. I'm not sure what my exact weight is right now, but I'm positive it's in the 90s. It usually is. Last time I weighed myself in August I was 87 pounds, but I'm positive I weigh significantly more now. Back then I was dealing with gastritis and my diet was very limited, but very soon after I started to get much better and eat more normal foods again.
