For context, I was raised by narcissists/abusive parents. They were far more than adamant that I was on the Autism Spectrum (ASD.) In my adult life, seeking help on my own, etc, I've come to the conclusion with other professionals that this is not accurate as they were not sharing the full picture of what my home life was like. They had a history of putting/trying me on various medications from a very young age. I had to learn how to swallow pills when I was in the first grade.
For roughly 3 years, my parents had me on this medication. They would break the capsule open on applesauce (completely ignoring that it was a major "fear food" for me due to the texture.) Every morning for 3 years, I would gag and retch as I swallowed a spoonful of applesauce. They claimed that "it could only be broken on applesauce."
I have only found one medication, depakote. I'm prescribed it now in tablet form. But for different reasons and for other diagnoses. I'm curious if anyone here has any idea what kind of medication this could have been?
