Broke my heel completely in 2! Was told this should have only happened from a fall from a minimum of 15 feet off a roof, deck, or ladder. I was running in 3 in wedged sneakers to give someone a hug and my friend made it a race and ran into me from behind. Rolled my ankle twice and down I went. I can't even describe the pain. Not only did I break it, but I lodged the bigger half of the bone into my ankle joint dislocating it (visible in the CT scan) for 10 days until surgery. When they put it back into place during surgery, it made an audible pop that made everyone in the operating room stop and make sure all was good! A finger could still be fit between the 2 pieces of bone so now I will live with a plate and 6 screws for life. The nerve damage is the worst part of the whole thing honestly. What isn't hypersensitive is just straight numb. Slowly but surely learning to walk again!
