Heroin is diacetylmorphine while krokodil is desomorphine. Structurally they’re quite similar and pure krokodil is actually more potent than pure heroin.
The issue with krokodil is its clandestine production involves the use of a multitude of highly toxic and impure household chemicals that are often left behind in the final product.
