Mid-level med device rep here, 4 years of experience. Interviewing for a job that would be a great next step in my career development. Had a total of 3 rounds, with most recent round being the most "promising," as I created a presentation for the hiring manager (which was not exactly my homework). Anyhow, feedback was extensively positive. At the end of our interview, he asked for two recent references- One from each of my two most recent employers. My references called me the next day to tell me they were contacted by this hiring manager.
My experience with companies checking references is hit and miss, meaning I see some that do it and some that do not.
Generally speaking, how many candidates are they calling references on? I am just trying to get a grasp as to where I stand here. According to my last conversation with him (round 2), there are still 2-3 rounds remaining.
Anyhow, open discussion here to find some insight, gather your opinions. Thanks
