Advice On Medical Coding Through College?
Post Body

Hello,

I been looking into a possible career change. I became interested in medical coding and I'm not sure where to start really. I live in Florida and I see tons of colleges offering certifications. I already work full time and would have to take something online. A lot of these schools offer certs or an associate version of a medical coding degree.

I am aware from looking around. You don't even have to really go to college to get educated. You can take courses on the AAPC website. I just not sure what I should do. I have looked on colleges websites multiple times. They all look like they offer the same thing. Are there any online schools you guys would recommend?

I've seen a few programs I was curious about from certain schools.

i.e Penn Foster, Ultimate Medical, Academy, Devry ect.

I am so full of anxiety about what employers would prefer said school over another. I know you gotta start small to get your foot in the door. This stuff gives me headaches doing research lately. Sure some of you newbies like me can relate. 🙃
