A phrase from someone recently describes exactly the problem I'm having with a couple of strains. I really want to track down the cause.
CC01 did smell exactly "hay bales and lawn trimmings" plus it was churning out my lungs. Two batches (could have been one)
Cannatrek Jasmin and Lemnos - no problems, one batch
Beacon Critical Super Silver Haze - ok-ish, one batch
Beacon Sensi Star - hay bales and lawn trimmings again. plus lungs irritated. One batch
Is it a terpene? I noticed that "hay bales" strains can be vaped at around 180C, but this leaves half the amount of cannabinoids and terpenes non-vaporised (there's a study) and I'm stingy hehe. Higher temps and my lungs were turning inside out.
Is it something else? Both are Kush-es and both are close relatives to Afghani Kush.
I'm really just trying to get some idea what to avoid in MC. Other than by a process of trial and umm success :D
Update: several people commented that it's due to a badly cured batch / bad curing practices at some suppliers.
My takeaway is to stay from Medcann, be careful with Beacon and embrace Cannatrek
