Hi there, I’ve been doing some research online and also asking friends who have prescriptions how to go about getting one. I self medicate for sometime now and I really want to make the switch to do it legally. I just have a few questions that only people with prescription experience would know. Just curious about the different companies, how to go about getting a prescription (whether thru a GP or calling them pharmacies directly), what to say when trying to get one and what not to say

Main questions are: 1) Which company should I try and go with? I’ve read up on here that apparently alternaleaf are really bad to deal with (Which is most reliable/easy to deal with?, which is fastest to both get into and also deliver of the product, which has the best service?)

2) How open should I be with the doctor assessing me? My friend has a prescription and he only gets a certain amount which would be too little for my needs. Shall I be open about being a heavy smoker/someone who’s smoked for long and that I would need a large amount. I’m a large person with heavy tolerance after so many years. Also I want to be open and let them know I know what all this is. Shall I tell them I need a sativa for day and indica for night ?

3) I want the option to be able to pick up from a chemist/dispensary or have it delivered, do all companies have this option?

4) Do all the companies have the same product variety or do some have more then others? (I like having different strains most times after running out so would like a company that has a lot of variety to offer, or does that depend on what you’re prescribed? Also one of my friend is always telling me how he has all the options of oils, different types of flower at different percentages. Even one that was like 40% apparently

5) Is there any difference between trying to get a GP reference for it and applying directly? (Do you save money with a GP reference/make the process faster or is it the same as going to them directly online or does it not matter because apparently the dispensary does a medical check on you anyway?)

6) Does it help to go into the GP and tell them for example that you have back pain and want some pain killers, the GP prescribes you pain killers but you never get them. But apparently according to the dispensary company all it shows is that you’ve had back pain and have been prescribed for an alternate treatment.

7) How long does it take for the whole process? From the start when you contact them to your first consultation to when you get the medication in your hands?

Sorry I know it’s a bit long but would really appreciate some help
