I know there are people out there that can't really switch, myself included, but if you can save yourself then please don't choose Mediacom.
I'm just so frustrated right now and I'm just going to rant. My upload has been so bad during peak hours lately and it's so hard to get Mediacom to even acknowledge it. Even if I get them to acknowledge it then their fix only lasts for like a month at more. Mediacom is terrible. I complain about my internet but it seems that all Mediacom can check is signal level and that's it. I'm pretty sure there is a lot more to internet then my modem signal level. They send a tech out and nothing they can do because they don't see an issue. Well I'm sorry that techs don't come out between the hours of 7pm and 12 am when it gets bogged down. Of course you get that $49.99 charge on your bill as well because Mediacom and their techs aren't capable of seeing congestion during prime time. I'm not going to take the time to call you if my service is running fine and it baffles me that you can't take the time to listen to what I'm saying and investigate it with that $50 dollars I'm paying you.
It's disgusting. I can literally go to like dslreports and other reddit threads that complain about upload speed during peak hours and clearly Mediacom can't even see that and it takes me 5 mins to do. I used to get people that could actually service my issues but I assume those people have left and the ones left just read off a script or go through a checklist.
I can't wait for the day that I can get rid of Mediacom. I'll probably look into a 5G replacement because my phone gets a more reliable connection during prime time then my landline does. That should never be a thing but it is sadly.
