low download and very low upload speeds - Mediacom tech threatens to charge me if he comes out and doesnt find anything. Customer 20+years.

Download and upload speeds have been painfully slow, kicking me off of work multiple times daily. The drops are intermittent, for example it was slow for an hour this morning but now looking decent. I've been on the phone with tech support multiple times no resets have helped. Speeds are the same whether wireless or hardwired. One phone support told me the "signals were in the red", most of the supports have no advice.

I had a tech scheduled to come out last week, he called me to confirm and when I said that right at that moment the net was working normally he told me if he came out and didnt find anything i would be charged 50$. So I cancelled, and then sure enough it dropped and hour later. I then called in and rescheduled.

One time a long time ago (18yrs) i had similar drops, the tech had to visit 4 times before they discovered a problem upstream. They realized i was at the end of the line and the first to feel the power drops. Tehy only found out when my nabs started to call in as well.

Anyway, i need help. The drops are disruptive. Any ideas what is going on? thanks!
