Hey Medford, it's time.
It's been an honor to help moderate this subreddit. I've lived in Medford for 21 of the last 25 years, but have since moved to a nearby city. While I am still close, I don't really feel that I would be an effective moderator, as I'm not directly impacted by the day-to-day pulse of the various city communities.
I use "communities" in a plural form because Medford is indeed becoming a quilt. The city is growing up, even from my own perspective I hardly recognize what I see from any reference point in the past. Five years ago? Ten years ago? 20? All different. With the rate things are changing someone closer to all of you will need to fill my humble shoes.
So it is time I step down. The rest of the team knew this day was coming, and I know they will continue to do a great job making this city subreddit stand out from others. Thanks to all of you we have a reputation of being, well, a pretty cool place to visit. I'm sure that will keep up, and from time to time I will stop by and see how everyone is doing.
I'll retain the official position for a few days more just in case I'm needed for technical reasons, and my last act before departing will be to unsticky this post.
To the future, Medford. We've only just begun our journey.
