Das Keyboard Experience
Post Body

Hey!

So I just wanted to write up an experience I have been having with my Das Keyboard Prime 13 White. I got it back in 2018 and within a month the spacebar seemed to slip off its mechanism. I contacted them and they sent me a new key cap which seemed to fix the issue for a while, and they said typically when sending a new key they didn't experience the issue again. So in my mind everything would be good. Roughly 10 months later the same thing happened (now early 2019), I contact them again and have to practically beg for a new key since it is out of warranty and they want $10 for it. They eventually "find" a spare spacebar key and send it. Okay, maybe this time it will be fixed.

I did ask for a refund since I was concerned about this happening more in the future but it had already passed the 30 day return policy. I also figured it was a fluke and they were right that a new keycap would fix the issue.

So now roughly a year later (the last month or so) like clock work the spacebar is messing up again and writing anything is a complete pain. When the spacebar breaks it pops off the mechanism which prevents you from pressing it. I have to completely remove it and put it back on to fix it, even writing this up it has popped off over 15 times and needed to be corrected.

This is clearly some kind of defect in the keyboard considering it is happening so consistently and same time frames. They have really done nothing to fix this issue except try to get me to pay $10 for a key cap which won't fix the issue considering the exact same issue has consistently been happening.

After looking up some other reviews and information it seems Das doesn't have a great reputation and it sucks I didn't see that back in 2018. I thought I did a decent amount of research but I guess not.

All I can hope is that someone reads this and they don't purchase this keyboard. Their quality control looks off and if there is an issue with it they will not help you fix the issue instead they will look forward making you spend more money.

Thanks.
