Ultra High Molecular Weight (UHMW)

The lumina keyboard is using Corian and charging a premium price. What if someone used UHMW plastic? It's really cheap but heavy and durable. Thinking about using it for my first fully custom board. Just need to wait on new router bit.
Brass plates are decent price as well (~$22 for 12" x 6" plate):
