[help] I need the community's advice, looking to build my first board

Post Body

So I'm looking to build my first end game board with a 96 key layout. ZZ96 or RS3 for examples. Now I know there aren't any GBs happening for anything of that layout, so I need to know what's best for me. I think /u/LunarisDream's ZZ96 GB isn't completely overwith now, so I doubt he will be having another one anytime soon.

I have very little soldering experience except for a few times in college, but from what I've seen I definitely think I can handle the soldering portion.

I recently bought in on the Godspeed SA drop on Massdrop, and this was kind of what pushed me to start looking into building the board.

Here is my layout using MiTo's new keyset: http://i.imgur.com/eBMtsD2.png

I am in love with clear switches. Have tried all Cherry MX variants, and love the tactile feels of clears. I see that /u/ZealPC is having a GB of his Zealio Switches, and I really think I would like those switches a lot. His GB is probably going to end in the next couple days. So I need to know what is best, and everything I will need to buy.

So here are my options (I think):

  1. Join the Zealio switch GB at 100 switches and also buy stabilizers which would mean I would just wait for a ZZ96 or equivalent GB where I would only need the PCB/Plate and Case. I'm not sure how easy/often it is to get a hold of Zealio switches, so this would also be a factor.

  2. Only stay in the Massdrop keyset GB, and scavenge /r/mechmarket for people selling/trading a board with my layout, hoping for switches and price that I wouldn't mind

  3. Give up on my dream because I haven't though this through well enough

Thanks ahead of time for anyone reading this and willing to help out!

EDIT: The only thing time sensitive is really the Zealio switch GB since the Massdrop keyset isn't expected to ship until March. I do have other keysets I could use for the time being on the board, but I don't currently have the keys I want to fit the non-standard layout.
