I went to a body shop and was originally quoted $145 for a new rear Latch to my forester, then today they emailed saying it’s actually $375 due to the parts. I looked up the rear latch I needed for my trunk and it’s $80. I thought maybe I also needed an actuator. If that’s the case, then the $375 makes sense.
But I emailed them asking what specific parts are needed and why the price doubled, all they replied with was “just a latch”.
Can I do this myself? It seems pretty straight forward. I’ve taken door Panels out to change side mirrors and what not.
