Age and wear. Itโs probably been cracked for a looooong time and never got replaced.
One thing is that when you replace just the one when it wears out. Yes of course itโs more expensive than replacing the one, but if they are all the same age they will be going out sooner rather than later anyway. But what happens a lot is that one goes out, you replace it and another goes out and wears out the newer ones quicker because of the increased movement. As much as it sucks to do the extra work, in my opinion, for my own vehicles I will always replace all of them together.
