AC R134a help needed.

Post Body

I have a 1996 Lexus SC400 with the original 1UZ-FE 4.0 liter V8 and the AC is the one system kicking my butt.. below is everything I've done and observed using a set of gauges and the little bit of knowledge I have on the subject Parts new to my system: -Compressor from a reputable remanufacturing company -Denso (OEM) Thermal Expansion Valve -New evaporator -New pressure switch -New drier -New o-rings throughout -New Schrader valve cores

All installed and vacuumed to near -30 psi and held for prescribed 5 minutes (finally) indicating a lack of leaks in the system.

Added a can of R134a to low port and observed as much as 80 psi on low side and 150 psi on high side on Tuesday. This was observed as well as evidence of freon in sight glass just before the can was unable to add more to the system and began warming up again. Also I noted that both lines into the compressor were hot to the touch. AC never once changed temp and the evaporator reminded warm throughout the procedure. (After dark with ambient temps in the low to mid 80's F)

Last night (Wednesday) I tried again to charge the system after vacuuming it and again proving a leak free system with held negative pressure reading on manifold gauges.

This time I added freon and was only able to achieve equal pressure across both low and high side ports and did NOT observe any movement or change within the sight glass and again noticed both lines at the compressor warm to the touch.

The compressor has come on once the pressure was raised in the system but once it comes on it seems to stay on continuously until the system setting is manually changed (turning off AC at the cabin control unit) or the motor is shut off..

PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY ISSUE IF YOU HAVE THE WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF A SYSTEM OF THIS NATURE. I live in Austin TX and this heat is already unbearable and it's been a long hot couple of weeks of working on the car as I can on the weekends and after work..

I want to think it's an obstruction in the lines but there are only a few lines that I have not personally been able to remove and blow through both ways with compressed air before allowing to dry out and reinstall back in their original locations.. thanks in advance for any and all help!
