I have a 2016 Ford Focus SE with 105,000 miles on it. No problems with the car and I get routine oil changes, inspections, etc. I noticed recently a humming noise coming from somewhere when I press the gas pedal. It doesn’t matter how light or hard I press it - the noise starts as soon as I touch it and stops when I release. The noise does not change and seems to be present in most gears.
At my last oil change, I mentioned it and they drove it, check wheel bearings, and suspension and said they didn’t notice anything - not even the noise. My wife (who use to drive the car regularly) didn’t notice it either until I recently pointed it out and now she hears it occasionally but not always (even though I hear). I’m starting to think I’m going crazy. The noise is faint and can be fairly easily drowned out when the ac and music is cranked. It’s hard to pickup on video to with background noise.
Does anyone have any ideas? I’d like to be able to have a better discussion about this next time I get my car serviced but I know nothing about cars.
