Is this Jiffy Lube’s fault or is my car just shitty?
Post Body

Went in yesterday to get my oil changed on my 2008 Nissan Altima. Knew I needed to get my brake pads replaced too, so they did that too.

Then they come back with the manufacturer recommends I replace my spark plugs. I figure what the hell, I like my car and want it to last a few more years. They find some gasket that is broken and order a new part. Okay, now my bill is $700. A little hard to swallow, but doable with some adjusted budgeting and ramen.

Now, my car is a little old. 175,000 miles on it, tire light won’t turn off, and power steering has a small leak that I continue to fill up when needed. But it has never stalled/not started.

This morning I went to turn my car on and it stalled for about 10 seconds. Noticed the “Service Engine Soon” light was on. Figured Jiffy Lube forgot your tighten something somewhere, so I was just going to run it back to them, but I wanted to see if my car stalled again, so I turned it off and tried turning it back on. Nothing this time, it just kept turning over.

Called them and they’re towing my car to the shop. I’m worried that they’re going to blame this on the state of my car.

Could this really be a coincidence? It feels very weird that my spark plugs were replaced and now my car won’t start and my engine light came on.

Also, I have learned my lesson the hard way about Jiffy Lube. Please don’t hammer the point home :(
