A couple of days ago, I started my truck and when I shifted from park to drive, the truck lurched. Drove to work and didn't realize any issue. However, on the way home the truck was hard to start, and indicated that it was stuck in 5th gear.
I attempted to go into manual mode. The gear indicator would flash, but would not shift into any other gear. I attempted to go into 2nd and 1st to no avail. I got the truck home and tried to run through a few gears. The truck lurches going into R or D and doesn't seem to shift while running. Torque is non-existant from takeoff, and refuses to shift into 6th on the highway. This morning, the truck wouldn't start. Typical clicking from the starter indicating a dead battery. There is an FSA 19N01 for the Transmission Lead Frame out for my VIN.
My question is: should I fool around and try to get a new battery to see if the "self learning" transmission will work with that simple repair or just say to hell with it, and get it towed to the dealership?
