I'm looking for an older subaru. I've done some research and have found that the models I'm most interested in are known for having head gasket/water pump issues. I'm wondering about one I'm really interested in particularly. It's an 05 outback has 157k but 14k ago had timing belt, head gaskets, and water pump professionally replaced. With that done by my very limited knowledge it seems like the big repairs have been done. And other than the known issues with those models those cars can usually go about 300k before they die completely. What are your thoughts on it ladies and gentlemen? I'm sort of car illiterate and I'm working with a limited budget.
