I have a manual swap ‘93 240sx with a mild built KA24DE engine I got by taking over someone else’s engine build. Long story short: everything is in the car, and for what I hope is all connected and hooked up. I have put 2 remanded alternators on her and neither put out the 13-14v it should. It also would shut off when I removed the battery cables. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the alternator SHOULD keep the car running, correct? I put an alternator off a known run I g car on, and it idled better, but still only puts out 12-12.4v. I’ve tried more mechanically inclined friends for help/advice, forums, FB pages, and so on. I’m going to try one thing and add a homemade ground out of 4 gauge since I could t get the 2 gauge a couple people suggested from the alternator to the chassis and possibly one from the block to chassis and see if that helps any. As far as we can tell stuff’s hooked up , and the relays and fuses check out. Any and all insight will be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
