Yep you read the title correctly. Something didn’t go right when I put the fuel rail and injectors back on, something didn’t seat all the way, or an O-ring fell off and I didn’t notice.
Either way, when I went to crank over the car to cycle fuel back into the line I heard a huge WHOOSH and then fuel dripping onto my garage floor...
Of course I had already re-installed the air intake manifold and everything. So no fuel got down in any openings, but when looking into the engine bay... I can clearly see tons of fuel.
How the heck do I clean up all this fuel so my car doesn’t start on fire from the evaporating fumes getting hot from the engine?
I have Gunk engine degreaser, would spraying that around the gas soaked areas and rinsing it off with water be enough?
