Audi C7 RS6 oil consumption

Got a friend whoâs recently purchased an RS6, has driven 1600 miles in it so far and has had to top up 3L of oil in that period.
Has had it in at Audi and theyâve assured him âthe oil consumption is within the guidelinesâ
Surely this canât be the case?
