Marine Battery Question
Post Body

We have a 1967 Johnson 100HP V4 outboard on our old boat. The pulse pack quit so I installed a new one. These pulse packs are sensitive to low voltage, any thing less than roughly 10 volts and they won't energize the coil. The marine battery we have now is getting tired and I think it's causing problems so I'm looking to replace it.

Should I get another marine battery or just a regular car battery? We don't use this boat for anything other than recreation. We don't fish so I don't think there is much need for a deep-cycle battery. What do the experts think?
