Car repairs and diagnosing issues is all new to me. I’m excited and willing to learn, and picked up a vehicle specifically for that purpose.
I try to utilize this thread and one for my specific model as well, and have found people to be super helpful. However, there will be certain things that I want a second opinion on - in person.
Would I be an asshole if I took my vehicle to a shop to have an issue diagnosed but wanted to do the actual repair myself? Is there a good way to do this? I’d imagine being up front is best, but I don’t want to be taken for because of this.
Any advice?
Edit: To clarify, I’m perfectly willing to pay for a diagnostic. I didn’t mean to imply I wanted it for free!
