Car temperature gauge rises to hot while idle?
Post Body

Hello I have a 2002 Honda CRV and i noticed that whenever I'm at a long red stop light, waiting in line at a drive-thru, or in idle movement, my car temperature gauge slowly rises to the "hot" section of the gauge. I also noticed that the A/C just blows uncold air out. But when the car is driving longer than 5 minutes, the A/C gets cold and the temperature gauge falls back to halfway, or if i'm really driving constantly (like on a highway, no traffic), it goes near cold.

I tried adding antifreeze to it, but it seems like it doesn't have any effect on my car.

What is the problem with my car? And if I cannot fix it myself, how much do you think it'll cost me if i bring it to a mechanic? What will the mechanic most likely do to the car? And how safe is it to drive my car without going to a mechanic, if I do need to see one?

Thanks guys for your help!

and idk if this helps, but i noticed when the car is idle and the A/C is blowing out uncold air, i notice a "sweaty" odor. I'm not sure if it's because I should clean the inside of my car, or there's a reason behind it. I'm also from Florida, so it's normally 95 Degrees outside, so that maybe a factor too? But i notice my car does this when the temperature is on the cooler side tho.
