I have about 97xxx miles on my 4Runner and know the book along with rule of thumb says to change the timing belt around 100k miles. Can anyone tell me how much this service cost them parts, labor and all? The dealer here wants $410 for the parts alone How long have some of you gone before actually doing the service? I know it needs to be done but hoping it's not one of those right at 100k miles it snaps and it's time to cry type deals. Also I'm sure it's an obvious question but I should be safe going to a private party mechanic that's reputable over the dealership to save some money also right? Stressing because I need this service and new tires soon so trying to make the financial dent as small as possible.
