car not shifting out of park ?

ever since almost a year ago, my car will have this problem where it won’t shift out of park. i’ll literally have to force it or wait for when it decides to work but idk what could be causing it. ive heard a couple of different things from mechanics & wanted to know what you guys think. thanks!
