I recently had a diagnostic done at AutoZone and received the code P101, which points to an issue with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor circuit. This suggests the sensor might need repair or replacement. Since the code appeared, I’ve noticed a slight sluggishness in performance. Initially, I was ready to replace the sensor, but several local mechanics have warned me that it could be a misdiagnosis.
They mentioned that the issue might stem from something else entirely, and even replacing the sensor might not resolve the problem. It seems diagnosing and isolating the MAF sensor as the root cause is a known challenge with Nissan Versas. Now, I’m at a loss for what to do next. While I was initially set on replacing the part, I’m hesitant to spend money on it without being certain it will fix the issue. Any guidance on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. For reference, I’m located in North Hollywood.
