'96 Ford escort 1.9 liter, car is in amazing condition, have a question about the head condition
Post Body

So, I normally wouldn't dump the time of day into a car like this, but this car is incredibly clean. It was basically given to me so at this point I'm just in sweat equity

I knew it had a hard miss on cylinder 4. Drop a camera into the cylinder and thought I saw the valve seat cracked (apparently this is a known problem with this engine). Decided to pull the heads

What you're seeing is what I saw. I have a local shop that's willing to machine the head, and there seems to be a decent amount of them online if I had to replace it.

My thought is to clean up the burrs, get a new head and throw it on and move on with my life.

I didn't find any debris in the cylinder when I pulled the head. So whatever was in there did its job and left.

Woof

Advice is appreciated, what would you do?
