My 07 Malibu started making a noise about a week ago.

I thought is was a pulley going bad but instead it started to cut off after running for around 30-45 mins and cuts off and doesn’t crank back until I wait a little while then same thing. First thought was timing chain when it broke down first time but once it started back up I was thinking maybe camshaft position sensor. Does my diagnosis sound about right?
No lights flash or nothing not battery or alternator
