I have a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta 1.8T with 150k miles and she’s begging for new struts and mounts. Should i go on rock auto and part out each individual part (strut, bump stop, mount, boot etc and reuse the factory spring) which is a pain in the ass because it’s a Volkswagen. I’m leaning towards Bilstein B4’s, bring the parts to my mechanic and have him install them.
My other option is go for Monroe quick struts through my mechanic, it’s a more expensive part but I save on labor, so the cost is pretty similar, however, I get a warranty for the parts and labor through my mechanic.
What are your thoughts on Bilstein B4’s vs Monroe quick struts?
