Drive Cycle Advice Pending Code

I recently replaced the battery and had some repairs done by a mechanic. I did a drive cycle and all of the monitors are OK except for the CAT which is incomplete. I have a P0505 Idle Air Control System pending code on my 2002 Civic Si. I was just wondering if the pending code would affect the CAT from getting cleared before I drive it more. I'm just trying to get it to pass smog as fast as possible because it's several months late. I'm in California where it is required for the CAT monitor to be OK to pass smog.
